About the Practitioner
Amira Pinsker, R. Ac is a registered acupuncturist, practitioner of Zero Balancing bodywork, and certified personal trainer practicing in Toronto. She blends a lifelong love of movement, a passion for nature, and deep study of Chinese medicine to create a practice dedicated to supporting your body's natural ability to heal and helping you move smoothly through physical and emotional difficulties.
Amira earned her Master's of Acupuncture at the Maryland University for Integrative Health (formerly the Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts), where she also studied Zero Balancing. In addition to her private practice, Amira has also been a supervisor at the Maryland University for Integrative Health's student acupuncture clinic and a teacher at the school.
She is a member of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Physicians Association of Canada, and is certified in Clean Needle Technique by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is certified in personal training through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Conditions that Amira has worked with include: insomnia, depression, arthritis, anxiety, infertility, muscle spasms, sciatica, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Seasonal Affective Disorder, menstrual issues, lower back pain, and many others.
A long time practitioner of yoga and Capoeira, Amira believes that a healthy body and a calm, focused mind are the two most valuable tools you can have for creating a good life. She is particularly interested in the ability of Chinese medicine to address the link between body and mind to address stress and inflammation.
